Mediterranean and Moroccan themed getaway in Palm Springs
I closed out the end of my two week vacation with a two night stay at a Moroccan and Mediterranean themed resort in Palm Springs. I already posted about how I went about organizing the trip for myself last minute, so definitely give that a read.
I stayed at the Korakia Pensione. I was very pleased with the location. It’s secluded enough in a quiet neighborhood, yet still so close to dozens of shops and restaurants downtown. The resort even offers free bikes to visitors. It’s really in a prime location!
One side of the resort is Mediterranean themed and the other side is Moroccan themed. I stayed on the Mediterranean side in the Limnos room. It was gorgeous. I felt like I was waking up on the Italian countryside (or at least what it looks like in my head lol). Oddly enough my favorite part was the bathroom.
Also, did I mention there’s free breakfast every morning?? Like what else does one need?
There was tons of communal space to lounge and for the nightly film screenings. The space never felt crowded, even when most of the guests were out and about. The location prides itself on maintaining a serene environment, so I appreciated the fact that everyone made it a point to keep their voices low. So peaceful!
And let’s take a moment to admire the gorgeous landscape, shall we?
To be honest, I spent most of my time just chillin, reading, and checking emails. So many things had piled up on my to-do list since starting residency, and I wanted to tackle them before going back to work.
Don’t worry, I did venture into town a few times to grab food at Tac/Quilla. Get the short rib enchiladas and thank me later. The chicken tacos were ight. I also tried my luck not geting stuck by cacti at Moorten Botanical Gardens. I also got a cheap $40 massage in town because the ones at the resort were outrageously expensive.
I really enjoyed my trip. Everyone should travel solo at least once in their lives. You don’t have to wait on people to come with you before you decide to create memories for yourself.
