Malibu Wine Hike
There’s really been no better place to quarantine than in LA.
The weather here is perfect almost year round which lends itself to a plethora of outdoor activities. One of my favorite outdoor activities to do this year was definitely the Malibu Wine Hike at the Saddle Rock Ranch and vineyard.
The property hosts a ton of other fun activities including the famous Malibu Wine Safari and the 4 x 4 ATV Tour just to name a few.
I did this hike with a few friends and we had a blast! The hike is about 2.5 miles in distance round trip with a lot of stops and scenic views sprinkled throughout. I found the hike to be pretty easy as an inexperienced hiker.
For starters let’s get into this view! Definitely my favorite backdrop of the entire Malibu Wine Hike!
When you pull up to the ranch there’ll be a parking lot for you to leave your car. From there' you’ll see signs directing you to the front desk for check in. It’s recommended that you come 15 minutes prior to your hiking time to get checked in. At the time of our tour, we were allowed to be maskless with proof of vaccination.
Our tour guide Shari was so bomb and very knowledgeable about the property. On your tour you’ll learn the history of the Saddle Rock Ranch as well as get some insight into some of the artistic touches the owners implemented to personalize their property.
Did I mention that this ranch is also home to a safari?! We got to see cows, horses, and zebras on our tour. Word on the street is that they also have giraffes.
My favorite part of the tour was picking strawberries and blackberries in the garden.
After you visit the garden , you’ll stop for a much needed Frose break.
Y’all know I love a photo op. Even with a decrepit school bus. Don’t worry I’m up to date on my tetanus shots.
At the end of the tour, each guest will get to choose a complimentary bottle of locally sourced wine to take home.
Friends!
Overall this was a pretty fun hike. Ten out of ten would recommend.
